Dear POVUCC Friends,
The Ten Commandments, do we really understand what they mean? This Sunday, March 7, we continue our Lenten journey of God's Promises, this week focusing on God's promise of guidance in our lives. In our exploration, we will consider how these ten sayings are more than commandments. We examine how these words, God's words, are invitations into a life in covenant with God and one another. For our liberation from all that enslaves us, we are given these words as gifts of guidance for living and communing together. Please join us as we live out and experience God's promises in our worship and fellowship together.
NOTE: We encourage the preparation of your elements for communion prior to beginning your time of worship.
We will continue our worship format on Zoom. At 10:00 am on Sunday morning we will worship together on Zoom, walking through an abridged version of the "Worship from Home" service. If you wish, you can print out a copy of the Worship from Home PDF for your use during the Zoom worship time. Please note that most of the content on the Sunday Zoom is the same as what's included in the Worship from Home PDF below, but not every element on the PDF will be included in our Zoom worship.
If you wish to join us on Zoom, please log in at 9:50am so that we have time to greet one another and take our virtual seats. While we hope to see your faces, you do not have to be on camera to attend. You may turn off your camera or dial in with a land line (with this option, you will be able to hear what is happening in the service as it is being spoken live or played via pre-recorded video). We will stay on after the service is complete to share a time of fellowship. During the Lenten season, we will use the fellowship time to create or share the crafts provided in the Lent at Home resource box designated for the week. The Sunday craft and explanation will be share in the Friday E-news.

For those that make their contributions online, you may be aware POVUCC pays a small processing fee for each transaction. While these fees are relatively small, during the course of the year, they do add to our ongoing operational costs. We recently upgraded our online giving web page to offer you the option of increasing your donations to include these fees. At the end of the year, your giving statement will include these optionally included processing fees in your annual totals.

VESPERS ON THE POINT: Our monthly Vespers on The Point resumes Sunday, March 7 at 4:30pm. For those who have signed-up, please remember that health and safety protocols will be closely observed (facial masks covering nose and mouth, physical distancing, health screening, and checks). We will not be able to accommodate those without a reservation. We look forward to seeing our reserved guests at the service!
ROOTS & FRUITS: The Roots & Fruits online contemplative practice will meet Sunday, March 7 from 5:00-6:00pm. When you contact Jimi, please share your full name. An ASL interpreter is now available for this meeting. Please contact Jimi one week prior to make arrangements.
THE STORY BIBLE STUDY RETURNS: We will continue our weekly study of The Story on Tuesday, March 9 from 3:30-4:30pm. We will explore Chapter 20: The Queen of Beauty and Courage. The study will continue to meet weekly on Tuesdays at 3:30pm. All are welcome to join!
