Greetings and Happy Women’s History Month from Monumental Women!

To help celebrate Women’s History Month 2021, Monumental Women invites you to join sculptor Meredith Bergmann and retired FDNY Captain and Monumental Women Board Member, Brenda Berkman, in a joint presentation sponsored by the venerable Art Students League on March 18, 2021 at 6 PM as they unveil the story of how Meredith Bergmann’s work, the Women’s Rights Pioneers Monument, came to be the first monument to real women in Central Park’s 167-year history.

Both speakers will describe the journeys that brought them to study at The Art Students League. They will discuss the many obstacles and ultimate triumph of their shared and historic project: the unveiling of the Women’s Rights Pioneers Monument in Central Park in the midst of a pandemic on August 26, 2020.

The event is online, free and open to the public.  Register now!:
