Principal's Message

Good Afternoon, Parents and Guardians.

Please take a moment to complete a survey for our 2021-2024 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).  This plan helps us to prioritize what’s important to our community to support positive student outcomes. Your input will be helpful in the preparation of the new plan. Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete it. Click here to take the survey. It can also be accessed through the NUSD website at www.natomasunified.org.

Thank you to all of the 8th grade parents that came out to the meeting with the high school counselors last Wednesday. For those of you who missed the meeting, you can see it and the first 8th grade meeting on our website at this link, NMS 8th Grade Parent Meetings.

Stay up to date with your emails. We will be sharing more information about re-opening for in-person instruction as it becomes available.

In the spirit of service,

ENSURING YOUR CHILD'S SUCCESS IN SCHOOL

Here are some tips to help your child succeed during distance learning.

  • Make it a norm in your home to have your student attend class daily with video on. We cannot ensure your child is learning if we cannot ensure they are there. Many turn off their video and don't respond when called on, indicating they are not there.
  • Make sure your child is out of bed, sitting up in a quiet place. Please do your best to remove distractions from around your child during the school day.
  • Check your child's Google Classroom daily for assignments, work returned, and missing work. Seeing that they submitted an assignment is not enough. Too many students are submitting blank assignments to give the appearance that they did the work or submitting partially done work. Incomplete work will be returned by the teachers.
  • If your child is struggling, have them attend teacher office hours for support. All teachers have one hour of office hours daily immediately after school.
  • Sign your child up for additional tutoring through the after school program or NUSD virtual tutoring program. (see message below)
If you can ensure these things are happening, our teachers can better support your child's learning. As always, feel free to reach out to your child's teacher or an admin if you need assistance.

INFINITE CAMPUS

IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, GET SIGNED UP FOR INFINITE CAMPUS TODAY!

The following is the account creation process for parents/guardians:

  • Each Monday, NUSD will generate Portal usernames and passwords for new parent/guardians.  An activation notice with the URL, username, and password will be sent to the parent/guardian at the email address they have on file in Infinite Campus (comes from donotreply...check your spam).
  • These activation notices expire each week, so new activation notices will also be sent each Monday to existing users who have not yet activated their accounts. If you don't get a notice, that means you already have an established account.
  • Parents/guardians will be prompted to set a new password and to establish security settings so that they can reset a forgotten password.
New IC Mobile Apps

I have been told that not everyone is successful in activating the new Infinite Campus application. Everyone not on Infinite Campus should have received an activation email last week. You will receive one weekly as long as you are not on Infinite Campus. Check your spam if you do not see it. That email will contain your activation code.

If you are having trouble you may need to change your password. Here is the link to change your password. If you are still having issues, please contact our IC help desk at: (916)567-5819 or email them at icportal@natomasunified.org.

Download the new app today. Instructions linked here.
