State Contest Registration Deadline is March 23. *NOTE: Student members who were submitted into membership on or before MARCH 1 will be eligible for National Level competition! Students who are submitted into membership AFTER MARCH 1 will be eligible for State Competition but will NOT be eligible for National Level competition.
SkillsUSA North Carolina State Conference is excited to have some great Business & Industry Supporters partnering with us in a Virtual Trade Show this year! More exciting information to come - including prizes for participants as well as a Live Vendor Night April 13 at 4:30pm.

SkillsUSA North Carolina is accepting the following Award Nominations for the 2020-21 school year:
OUTSTANDING SkillsUSA MEMBER - Advisors may nominate those students who have exceeded expectations this year as SkillsUSA members in their local chapter and at the state level. ADVISOR OF THE YEAR - Seeking SkillsUSA Advisors who have been outstanding in moving and guiding their chapters this year, even in the midst of Covid challenges. CAREER ESSENTIALS RECIPIENTS - Those students who have completed any level or segment of the SkillsUSA Career Essentials program.

Recycle Regatta Event for K-12 Students
Submissions are being accepted for the 2021 Recycle Regatta until March 31st!Students may submit on theRecycle Regatta webpageor with theattached form. Teachers and families may submit on behalf of students.
What is the Recycle Regatta?
The Recycle Regatta is a fun, hands-on competition that students can participate in from the safety of their own home or in their classroom. K-12 students are invited to engineer small-scale, unmanned, model sailboats out of repurposed materials. They will then test it for buoyancy and calculate speed to race their boat to victory! Prizes will be awarded to our winners!
Entry into the Recycle Regatta is free. K-12 teachers participating in the regatta are eligible forNESS’s NGSS-aligned online experiential learning programat a discounted rate and scholarship funds are available. This hands-on program dives into the physics of sailing and how to build a recycle regatta boat. Contactnquaratella@nessf.orgfor details.
Virtual Kick-Off Event and Q+A
Join Recycle Regatta coordinators onTuesday, March 9thfrom 4:00-4:30 pm ESTfor a virtual kick-off event! Recycle Regatta staff will provide an overview of the competition, a walkthrough of our website, and how to submit your entry. We will then open the floor to questions. Interested students, families, and teachers are encouraged to attend! The virtual event will take place live over Zoom andEducational Passage’s Facebook page.

Register by March 19 for Summer Immersion Program with "Girls Who Code"
The 2021 Summer Immersion Program (SIP) offered by "Girls Who Code" is a FREE two-week virtual program for 9-11th grade girls and non-binary students who want to build a coding portfolio, meet industry employees, and build community with other peers.
Girls Who Code is committed to ensuring equity and diversity across all of their programs, which is why over 50% of the students they serve are from historically underrepresented groups.
Current 9th-11th grade girls and non-binary students are eligible to apply. The final deadline is March 19. Students from underrepresented groups in tech are strongly encouraged to apply early, including Black, Latinx, and students from low-income backgrounds.

Registration for "Connect to My Future" Conference Opens March 15
SkillsUSA’s Connect to My Future conference is a two-day virtual event designed to allow students to explore career pathways and connect directly with employers.
Connect to my Future is unique, in that it facilitates conversations between SkillsUSA members and employees of partners and affiliate organizations. These important conversations will connect students with their future. There are three tracks to Connect to My Future:
Connect (High School seniors and College/Postsecondary students)
