Pinot Pontification

Virtual Wine Tasting

Friday, March 12, 7pm via Facebook Live

If you have seen our livestreams and virtual tastings, you know we love to PONTIFICATE! To wax poetic, to ponder, to elocute, to declaim! And no wine brings out the thesaurus like Pinot Noir.

To say we all enjoy Pinot is probably an understatement. We like it a lot. This tasting gives us the perfect opportunity to get out all our nerdy factoids about the taste, heritage, genetics, and bio-dynamism you can find in a bottle of Pinot.

Buy the kit, folks. And brace yourselves.

Clear your calendars because we also have some great ones coming this month with Back to Basics on March 19 and Daniel Daou from Daou Vineyards joins us as we do a winery spotlight on March 26.

Here are the wines for this week:

Kettmeir Pinot Bianco Alto Adige - Sudtirol Craggy Range Pinot Noir Martinborough  Etude Pinot Noir 'Grace Benoist Ranch'

If you haven't tried one of our virtual tastings, here is how it works. We live stream the event on our Facebook Live page  Friday at 7pm. You don't have to buy the wines to join, anyone can watch for free - but it is more fun to buy the tasting kit and taste along. If you would like to check one out, watch one of the replays of a past event.

We are offering this tasting pack for a special deal - order online and you can pickup, have it delivered, or we will ship it to you!

On Friday, join us on our Facebook page at 7PM and we will have a chat. If you miss it, you can watch the replay!

Cheese Tasting Kit

3 premium cheeses to discuss as we Pontificate Pinot. Approximately 1/4 lb each of three great cheeses. This week the cheese kit features:

Fontal

This Italian favorite is pale straw color, and supple but dense, with some small holes. It has a mild, nutty flavor, that is almost sweet with a touch of tartness. Fontal was first created as a French knock-off of the Italian cheese “Fontina.” The French called it Fontina, but in 1951 they were forced by law to come up with another name. The name Fontal has been used since 1955.

Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam

Mt Tam is a soft, triple-cream cheese made with pasteurized cow's milk, produced by Cowgirl Creamery, based in Marin County, California, United States. The cheese is a combination of organic milk and cream. Mt Tam is smooth, creamy and soft on the tongue and melts in the mouth instantly.

Sage Derby

Sage Derby is a mild cheddar aged for 12 weeks resulting in a gourmet cheese with pizazz and charm. It has a festive in color with a subtle sage enhancement for flavor; created by using leaf sage herb, and colored using spinach powder to give a green marbled finish. Due to the clear markings, it looks very striking on a cheeseboard.
