Girlhood (It's Complicated)

A website exhibition featuring the many facets of being a girl in the past and in today's society.
Girlhood (It's Complicated)
commemorates the anniversary of woman suffrage by exploring the concept of girlhood in the United States, how girls changed history in five areas (politics, education, work, health, and fashion), and how girls today, like suffragists, used their voices to make a difference. Read more here.

Combine Literacy, Making, and Social-Emotional Skills with Reading Comprehension

Literacy in the making - where hearts, minds, and hands meet.
When students are engaged in a story, they are motivated to understand what is happening. We choose theme-based stories for our Literacy in the Making activities that will not only spark student interest but also provide a platform for students to engage deeply with the ideas in the text.

Connect Arts and Equity in Education
Explore how equity has shown up in arts education in the times of distance learning.
Join San Mateo County Office of Education's Arts and Restorative Learning Coordinator, Michelle Holdt, and colleagues to connect and make connections between arts making and equity in education. Please have paper, scissors, a glue stick and some markers/pens ready for the first meeting, so we can make art while we talk and  discuss how equity has shown up in our arts education work in the times of distance learning. These groups are drop-in and will be hands-on and interactive. Meetings are open to all teachers.

Mondays - March 15, April 12, May 17 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM
