Emergency Broadband Benefit Announced

The FCC recently added an Emergency Broadband Benefit to households that “receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision, or did so in the 2019-2020 school year." This may provide up to $50 for broadband internet per month. You can learn more information here: https://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit

Next Week

Teacher Appreciation Week: Mar 15 - 19

We're used to seeing Teacher Appreciation Week in May, but this year our PTO has decided to move the date up! Please consider finding ways to let our teachers know that you value their work as partners in your children's lives.

No School: Mar 17

There is no school and no tier 1 childcare on March 17 due to a staff development day. The YMCA is offering fee-based, full day child care at Deerwood, Red Pine, Rosemount Elementary, Southview and Thomas Lake on March 17. Please reach out to the YMCA if you would like more information. 952-431-8790

The same type of childcare will also be available during the week of Spring Break, March 22-26.

Report Cards: Mar 19

On Friday, March 19 at 5PM your students' report cards will be published in the parent portal of Infinite Campus. See the instructions for using your account on our Families page. If you need additional help, please call our office at 952-431-8350.

CAHOOTS 2021 Summer Program

CAHOOTS math and language arts in one book … a great value!

Parents, Community Education is pleased to again be offering CAHOOTS, a K-5 summer math and language arts correspondence workbook program.

The program is portable, flexible and designed to closely match our district curriculum through an engaging and reflective approach to learning.  After completing each lesson and checking answers online, students complete an assignment reflection and send to a CAHOOTS Buddy who will send a written response back.

Cost is $43.  Final registration is due April 2.

To enroll, visit our website at https://district196.ce.eleyo.com and select appropriate grade level for fall 2021 (1-6; 1=entering 1st grade, 2=entering 2nd grade, etc.).
***Please review and update your address prior to placing your order.***

If you are unable to enroll online, please call our office at 651.423.7920 to register.

It is recommended students work on the grade level they will be entering in the fall (i.e. 1st grade is a review of kindergarten), to review and reinforce skills learned during the school year.  Please discuss with your child’s teacher, if you feel another level may be more suitable.

CAHOOTS should not be considered a replacement for participating in summer school, if your child qualifies.  CAHOOTS is not intended to replace regular reading for enjoyment or math activities that strengthen your child’s fluency and love for math.

Board/Committee Nomination Form

We are looking for new board members as well as people to take the lead on PTO sponsored events. Many of the projects/events can have committees so you won't be tackling the event on your own. There are people who can help answer questions on what has been done previously. If you would like additional information on any of the positions, please send us an email at parkviewelempto@gmail.com or join the PTO meeting next Tuesday, March 9th. We need your help to make our events happen! Sign up using the nomination form below.
