The Heart of a Journal and the Structure of a Planner!

Three years ago my partner Theo Burtis, a student leader who brought me in to speak at his student council leadership conference hit me up and said, “I’m getting a vibe on my campus that students have a negative mindset.” I responded by saying, “Well, let’s find out.”

What we discovered after dozens of interviews and focus groups is that students aren’t pessimistic, but aren’t sure how to handle uncertainty in their life which can lead to a negative attitude about their future.

Out of this research, Theo and I have spent the last two years building The You Book. "The You Book" is a tool that was developed to help young adults combat the uncertainties of life and look after their mental and emotional health.

We are currently beta testing at a high school in Maryland with seniors and a social impact class of undergraduate students at NYU. We’d love to discuss more about how The You Book might be able to help your students.
