Let's unite around river and water recreation safety

Hi Community Partners,
The Willamette Valley Visitors Association (WVVA) has partnered with the Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB) in an effort to use our platforms (website, social media, future visitor guides etc.) to show safe life jacket practices among children and adults on bodies of water. The OSMB and WVVA are looking for partners to also commit to using their platforms with the same shared goal of proper life jacket use.
What is the commitment?
- All water recreation imagery created and produced by your agency will show proper life jacket use in children and adults
- Collaborators and hired content creators (such as social media influencers, bloggers, and media) will uphold this commitment in their contracted content.
- User-generated content is a great way to show real people experiencing Oregon, but only content illustrating appropriate life jacket use will be shared.
- This commitment will be shared with other agencies and industries, including land managers, environmental stewards, outdoor retailers, guides and outfitters, and others.
How do you commit?
(note: WVVA and OSMB will push a joint press release on this effort calling out all committed partners)
We recognize this commitment might need some additional support around shared language and strategy in sharing proper PFD usage and safe water recreation practices. We have put together a safe water recreation toolkit for all committed partners to use. Currently all the shared imagery is of the Willamette River, we are happy to make social media tiles that are specific to your region.
