Happy Easter

According to German Folklore, the "Easter Hare" or Easter Bunny as we so commonly refer to now, originally played the role of a judge, deciding whether children were good or disobedient at the start of the season of Eastertide. In legend, the creature carries colored eggs, candy, and sometimes also toys in a basket to the homes of children, similar to Santa Clause on the night before their respective holidays. Waking up to find the hidden Easter Eggs was one of our favorite memories, how about you?

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. On behalf of Kinship Connections of Wyoming, we invite you to join us in raising awareness. This year the Children's Bureau's theme is "Thriving Children and Families: Prevention with Purpose". Every positive and negative experience that a child has when they are young, will impact them throughout their lives. As caregivers and providers, our work can and will enable children to grow in safe, stable and nurturing environments that ensure families succeed and communities thrive.

Early Childhood Development

Did you know that 90% of brain growth happens before kindergarten (First Things First)? Early brain development is directly influenced by a child’s day-to-day interactions with those that take care of them. From birth to age five, a child’s brain develops more than any other time, and early brain development has a lasting impact on a child’s ability to learn and succeed not only in school, but in life. If you would like to learn more about early developmental milestones and a helpful resource to utilize to ensure your child(ren) are developmentally on track please visit our blog.
