Prayer knows no boundary, no quarantine, no confinements. 
Prayer knows no travel ban or city blockage. 
We are called to pray!

  • Tim, Mel, Jarred and Clayton have settled in Townsville after arriving from Malawi in late January for an extended time of home assignment.
  • Pray for Tim and Mel as they visit churches around Queensland as part of their home assignment, and for Barry and Lois in their supporting role.
  • Pray for Jarred and Clayton as they settle into school life.
  • Thank God for the Yawo believers in Malawi - that God may give the village group leaders wisdom and strength in their faith as they lead and grow.
  • Pray of the continued work of bible translation in 2021
  • Thank God for the provision of accommodation and transport.
  • Pray for the Debbie and her team as they serve God among the many girls of Bulawayo at the Centre who have been victims of sexual abuse.
  • Statistics show that in Zimbabwe, thousands of children will spend the night in fear of abuse, sexual molestation by family members or relatives, while others will be selling their bodies in forced prostitution. One in every three girls in Zimbabwe will be sexually abused before they reach the age of 18.
  • Pray for Debbie and her team as they serve God among the many girls of Bulawayo at the SJC who have been victims of sexual abuse.
  • Pray for the funding to pay off the debt on the Hotel Rio.  If you are interested in giving a donation please speak to a member of the Northreach Overseas Mission Team to become involved.
  • Pray for the water supply and safety within their community.
  • Thank God for the wonderful witness and changed lives through the work of the Centre over many years.
  • Pray for Ben, Petra, Bryce and Lochlan.  They are now ack on the Silk Road after their extended home assignment.
  • Praise God for opening the doors - re-establishing old friendships and the making of new friends on the Silk Road.
  • Pray for the continued developing of Ben and Petra's language skills - that they would quickly return and develop well to enable easy communication.
  • Pray for Bryce and Lochlan as they grow in their faith and learning and as they make new friends and renew earlier friendships.
  • Praise: That although affected by COVID-19 the Pattersons were not badly effected and have do not have any of the symptoms that can persist afterwards.
  • Pray for the people of Bulgaria to turn to God in this time, that God would work in their hearts, that believers would be ready and excited to proclaim the hope that we have, and that our internet connectedness would be used for spreading hope and not fear.
  • Praise: Dan continues to be able to teach the second homiletics course to an enthusiastic group of St. Trivelius students.
  • Praise: Continued evidence of God working in the lives of individuals as they progress on their faith journey.
  • Pray: For Svetlana and Mimi as they learn and grown in their faith and as they continue their schooling, which is now back to being face-to-face rather than online.
  • Pray for Katie in her work GP counselling work and as she does further training in Biblical counselling.
  • Pray for Morris as who now based in southern Queensland working with a team developing bible apps for south Asia.
  • Governments are taking steps to gain some control of the spread of COVID-19; but schools have been closed, public transport has been decreased, large gatherings have been banned, and businesses have closed. 
  • Pray for the continued work of Symbiosis as they help equip and support the people of south Asia to come to know Jesus and to learn the skills needed to generate an income.
  • Pray for the people of south Asia who are suffering greatly both economically and in their health as COVID-19 sweeps through the nations.
  • Praise God for His prompting 53 years ago on Australia Day, that would lead Morris to being fully immersed in international mission. We thank our heavenly father for the many ways Morris has been used to bring His light to so many over the years.
  • Praise: L has now successfully completed her confirmation process for her PhD studies which is looking at minimizing incidences of snakebite in northern India.
  • Upward conversations for L as she submits her ethics application and completes the methods chapter of her studies.
  • Talk to our Father for her long-distance research connections and friends in India as they deal with the impact of COVID-19.
  • Praise: For a two-week staycation where L was able to relax and recharge.
  • Upward talk for her editorial work for the CJGH journal.
  • Give thanks for the regular Homeland Outreach, particularly those Yolngu that have been discipled and are now discipling others.  Give thanks for the Yolgnu Christian Leadership discipling training day.
  • Please continue to pray for safety and wisdom for our pilots.  Landing on wet airstrips, trying to avoid bad weather and dealing with the heat and humidity is stressful.
  • Pray for wisdom for Hannah-Rose's schooling for next year.  Her current school stops at the end of grade 10.
  • Thank God for the safe, but eventful trip from Arnhem Land to Darwin for dental appointments for Mark and Hannah-Rose.
  • Pray for Echo Island where MAF planes can no longer stay there overnight due to the theft of aircraft fuel.
  • Pray for our apprentice engineers, for clarity and retention of information, as well as peace as they sit for exams.
  • Pray for energy and patience for Jodie as she teaches in the local school which struggles to attract teachers.
Suzanne Day is planning to go to Guinea and join the SIM team now that she has finished her studies at Ridley College.
  • Pray for Suzanne who is now based in Townsville before she heads out to Guinea as she becomes involved at both the Upper Ross and Northreach churches and seeks to raise support (both prayer and financial).
  • Pray for many good connections to be made across the churches of NQ to help build and develop Suzanne's support network before she heads to Africa.
  • Please pray for the Fulani and Maninka people of Guinea who do not yet know Christ and for the SIM team there already.
  • Pray for wisdom and guidance for Suzanne over the coming months before she leaves for Guinea.
Tom and Elyse Sweeney - currently studying at Sydney Missionary Bible College.
  • Pray that God would give clear direction to Tom and Elyse as to where He would have them serve Him in the future.
  • Pray for useful and effective study times.
  • Praise God they were able to visit friends and family in Townsville over Christmas and the New Year after nearly a year of COVID separation.
