The USA Women's National Team had an iconic partying run in summer 2019., and this moment was my personal highlight.

Hey aSweatLife readers,

By now, you've probably seem the viral TikTok comparing the weight rooms for the women's basketball teams and the men's basketball teams at their respective NCAA tournaments. My first reaction to seeing it was an eye roll: "Typical," I thought. But as female athletes came forward with more stark differences between the two tournaments—the food quality, the swag bags, even the social media branding—I felt more and more disheartened at how complacent the NCAA had become in regards to gender equity (although the case of whether the discrepancy violates Title IX is a little more complex). And during Women's History Month, no less.

We'll be watching how the NCAA responds to the outcry and what changes they institute in future tournaments. But in the meantime, now is as good a time as ever to pick up [insert your sporting equipment of choice] and take advantage of whatever resources ARE available to you. I've spent a lot of time playing tennis recently, and the satisfaction of finally nailing a consistent serve brings a huge smile to my face. I'm wrangling friends left and right to play regularly now that the weather is a little more friendly—the combination of being outside, seeing a friend, and moving my body just can't be beat.

Oh, and we're also keeping an eye on this company. which seems to be a network connecting women in sports at every level (even if that's very recreational tennis, like me).

A note to our AAPI community

aSweatLife unequivocally denounces the horrific hate crimes against Asian-American Pacific Islander communities that have occurred over the past year. We're providing safe spaces for our AAPI community members to share their feelings, and we're educating ourselves with resources from Stop AAPI Hate, Anti-Asian Violence Resources, and this long read on the history of anti-Asian violence in America, among others. We'll be sharing more from our community in the coming weeks.

Inside the Peloverse

Sure, you may have #PelotonChicago or #BlackGirlMagic as your leaderboard hashtag... but did you realize there are over 300 Facebook groups dedicated to sub-communities of Peloton? Read this to open your eyes up to all the ways Peloton lovers are creating their own hyper-specific micro-communities (maybe you need Horse Girls for Peloton in your life).

Are you ready to get back into a gym?

Honestly, I've gotten pretty used to working out alone at home—but this week I started craving in-person workouts and access to equipment I can't fit in my house. If you're in a similar state of mind, read this article about questions to ask your gym before you make your grand return.

How we're prepping for spring cleaning

We have a LOT of spring cleaning content coming to you over the next few weeks (and personally, I am GLUED to the @gocleanco Instagram account—anyone else??). If you're not quite ready for a full block-your-weekend spring clean, take a tiny step instead by making these natural DIY cleaners.

For a good follow: @sydneyleroux

I am totally obsessed with Sydney Leroux Dwyer (a professional soccer player who's played for the national team) and her adorable little family. The picture you see here was captioned "Are you a soccer mom? Or are you a soccer MOM?", with players Alex Morgan, Ali Krieger, Ashlyn Harris, and Leroux Dwyer posing in their best impression of high-waisted mom shorts (and yes, they're all moms).
