SWD® Newsletter

April 2021
A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
Greetings:

I hope that this newsletter finds you in a wonderful place. We are into our second month of spring and the world is shaking off the dust of the last year. There are many observances during April from the serious to the silly. Yes, tax day happens this month, but I would like to focus on something more celebratory, National High Five Day! This is a day of celebratory greetings and I think we all deserve this.

Here at Second Wind Dreams we are celebrating the roll out of the Dementia Interpreters program, new partnerships, the launch of our interview series, and much more. I am personally sending you a high five to celebrate you and all you are doing.

Thank you and High Five,

Gwenyth Johnson, CEO
DREAMS PROGRAM
Victoria and Avalene, Elmcroft of Hendersonville residents, both enjoyed a lifetime with horses and miss them very much. Thanks to help from Avalon Hospice, a special dream was fulfilled when two horses came to visit. What a fantastic surprise for our dreamers!  Visit our Dream Gallery to read about more wonderful stories.
VOLUNTEERS
April 18-24, 2021 honors volunteers across the country as we “Celebrate Service.” Second Wind Dreams appreciates our outstanding volunteers dedicated to changing the perception of aging. Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey!

We would like to recognize our volunteer intern Savannah Ross, a current student at Kennesaw State University. Savannah has done an amazing job leading Cards of Light efforts and virtual events. We can’t thank her enough!
As our elder care communities begin to welcome volunteer visits again, we look forward to seeing you in person soon!
