Trans Day of Visibility: Trans Rights are Human Rights
Today is Trans Day of Visibility!
A day to honor the trans and non-binary community by celebrating their accomplishments and resilience and ensure that we’re doing our part to extinguish transphobia. We’ve listed some ways that you can advocate for the trans and non-binary community. What advocacy steps can you think of?
  • Educate yourself on trans history, identities, terminology, and the lived experiences that are written by trans and non-binary people!
  • Familiarize yourself with the issues that trans and non-binary folk endure like job discrimination, financial and housing insecurity, lack of access to gender-affirming healthcare, and violence.
  • Find trans and non-binary led organizations that you can support through financial donations, volunteer work, or mutual aid efforts.
  • Read up on federal, national, and local legislation and policies that affect the trans and non-binary community and get involved in those areas so you can advocate for trans inclusive politics to lead to systemic change.
  • Leverage your privilege and call out anti-trans sentiments in your social circles.
  • Sign up to take the Pride Inclusion Training so you can learn how to advocate for the transgender and non-binary community at MiraCosta!
