Reasons for the APHVC Vaccinates social media campaign. For full text, refer to text block below.

The APHVC Central Communications Team needs YOUR help to promote vaccine confidence in the state of Massachusetts. Personal stories from friends and family can help to promote confidence in the vaccine for those who are hesitant to get vaccinated for COVID-19. Posting personal stories on social media is a subtle but effective way to show others that vaccines are a safe and effective tool against the pandemic.

If you plan to get the COVID-19 vaccine or have already been vaccinated, post your personal reason on social media between March 29 and April 2 using the hashtag #APHVCVaccinates. Please follow the guidelines outlined below and don’t forget to tag @APHVC_MA on Instagram and @APHVC on Twitter!

Guidelines

  • Keep your reason personal, not scientific

  • Avoid shaming or blaming those who have not chosen to be vaccinated

  • If you post a video be sure to write what you say in the description

Suggestions

  • On Instagram

    • Post a picture with a loved one, either pre-pandemic or now if you live with them

    • Post a picture that shows you wearing a well-fitted mask or a double mask

    • If you work in healthcare or around those who are at higher risk, post a picture of yourself in your uniform if your employer allows you to

  • Twitter or Instagram

    • Consider asking people to leave their reason in the comments of your post or Tweet so it’ll get moved up the feed

Don’t forget!

  • Use the hashtags #APHVCVaccinates and #COVID19Vaccine

  • Tag @APHVC_MA on Instagram or @APHVC on Twitter

  • Feel free to tag your college/university as well!
