Roslyn Lost 2-4 (ht 1-2)
Goal scorers Kate Macbeth x 2
Starting XI
Hayley Julian, Grace Cotter, Beth Fitchett, Amelia Newlands, Jordyn Walker, Sophie Wylie, Emma Black, Holly White, Renee Bacon, Kate Macbeth and Juliette Lucas.
Subs, Zoe Miller, Paige Julian, Alex Maffey, Zara Pratley and Caitlin Robb.
We opened scoring inside 2 min. Great forward drive by Bacon for a beautiful finish from Macbeth., Uni capitalized on mistakes grabbing couple before half.
Second half seen great patches just not enough for us to grab victory.
Hayley was amazing in goal for us, class saves, great confidence.
Zara Pratley debuted for Premier team in the number 14 to match her age.
We cant blame decisions not going our way, must look at ourselves and learn.

Nev's Excellent SPL Wrap
Roslyn took control early and linking nicely through the middle of the park created a couple of half chances were not able to find a way past Daniel Bocatios in goal . Roslyn finally find a goal when a set piece is only partially cleared to their left back Karma Gyeltshen who delivered a cross that deceived everyone bar Mitch Gray and the big centre back toed passed Bocatios .
Queenstown then settle into the game and start to stretch Roslyn and nearly equalise just before half time when Thomas Mills got on the end of a bouncing through ball and his well placed lob forced Tom Stevens into a full stretch save tipping it over the bar.
Queenstown continue to dominate the opening exchanges of the second half and a fast break down the right sees a low driven cross with pace that Graeme Beveridge strikes first time to make it 1-1. With Queenstowns expansive open style it allowed Roslyn opportunities on the counter but Bocatios in goals was having a great game.
It took a penalty to break the deadlock after Roslyns Luke Clissold was bundled over in the box and Scott Casey-Woolridge fired it into the roof of the net. Roslyn had the chance to make the game safe when another penalty was awarded - this time for a handball in the box.
Casey-Woolridge stepped up again and attempted to put it into the same spot however Bocatiosc parried it to safety. The save turned the momentum and soon after Queenstown won a free kick wide on the edge of Roslyn's box. The free kick was caught Roslyn sleeping with a simple lay off to Gareth Beale who ran from deep and buried it into the roof of the net at the far post for 2.2 and what looked like would be a share of the points.
However 4 mins later and deep into stoppage time Roslyns Nathan Wilkie delivered a ball into the box from the left and Luke Clissold hung in the air with a header the looped over the keeper and into the top left hand corner giving Roslyn all 3 points in a classic 3.2 victory on the road.
Otago University v Mosgiel
Most of the action happened in the opening quarter - with Mosgiel starting the strongest with Lewis Wall hitting the post and Liam Dungey not able to force in the rebound. University keeper Neill Achary was kept busy making a couple of classy saves including One to deny Rahan Ali following a well flighted free kick from his brother Kasam.
Mosgiel were temporarily down to 10 men with Dungey forced off with a head knock and University took advantage when Ben Stanley struck from the edge of the box.
Within 5 minutes Mosgiel were level when Matt Kelly robbed Arnon Tapp and then beat the last defender and laid the ball off Isaac Hamilton for a simple tap in.
Varsitys Ben Farrell then won the ball in midfield and launched an unstoppable shot from 30 yards out past keeper Tom Poole to give the students a 2.1 lead on 21 minutes.
Mosgiel were having the more clear chances with Varsity having more of the possession and Into the 2nd half the game was finally balanced and Mosgiels Joe Barendrecht made a barn storming run from midfield and past the defender and as he beared down on Achary in goal the ball ballooned up and the chance was gone. As Mosgiel continued to look for an equaliser Varsities Tom Stewart runs with the ball from halfway in the last minute and he slots home for a 3.1 victory and top of the after 2 games with maximum points.
Northern v Green Island
The clash of last year's champions and the last placed team had plenty of thrills and late drama. Green Island took the early lead when Max Johnston scored after 6 minutes following a pin point cross from Matt Milton.
Northern have worked hard in preseason and fought back to take a half time lead when Al Julanda Al Muwali equalised after 31 minutes and then Jacob Willet scored as half time approached. 2 penalties in the second half both scored by Tom Milton - the second coming with only 10 minutes left looked to have given the Island the 3 points
However a minute later Northern had their own penalty when keeper Christian Firth was judged to have fouled the striker and he was also sent off. Island coach Shane Carvell sent on replacement keeper Josh Hook who's first job was to pick the ball out of the back of the net with Seamus Gray scoring from the spot to seal a point in a 3.3 draw.
South City Royals v Wanaka.
Wanaka gave the ball away and striker Thomas Fisher sent in a deep cross and Ryan Fleming nodded the ball back across the 6 yard box giving Connor Neil a simple to happen and the 1.0 lead.
Fisher was a handful for the Wanaka defence and with 15 minutes gone he headed narrowly over the crossbar but we was not denied for long - a minute later when a ball was played over his shoulder he turned and volleyed exquisitely giving Josh Shackleton on goals no chance.
Wanakas depleted side were still dangerous on the break with Steve Pleskun being denied by an outstanding save from Liam Whittaker with 23 minutes played.
The Royals were dominating possession and territory and when Neils superb cross was expertly controlled on the chest by Ryan Fleming he swivvelled and volleyed a venomous strike from a tight angle to make it 3-0 after 28 minutes.
Neil then made it 4.0 two minutes later when he swept in a low cross from Fisher.
Wanakas skipper Thomas Van Hees collected a yellow card as he denied Neil another goal scoring opportunity 7 minutes before the break.
Wanaka suddenly came back into the match on the stroke of half time when Pleskun pulled one back as he followed up a shot after Whittaker saved but Pleskun was quickest to the rebound and then with last play of the half Tomas Tinka reduced the deficit further.
At the start of the second half and with their tails up Wanaka were denied their 3rd goal in 3 minutes with Whittaker getting down smartly to deny Pleskun.
Connor Neil was forced off as he wasn't able to shake off the effects of a bone crunching tackle by Tinka and was replaced by Raven August - the change had no effect on the Royals as they moved through the gears and when Scott Mitchell turned the ball into his own net after 53 minutes to make it 5.2 the Royals completely dominated the remainder of the match.
A long throw in by the Royals Callan Rothmets was headed in by Fisher on 60 minutes. Raven August made it 7 in the 78th minute when he had a simple tap in following a skilful run by Fisher .
The Royals made it 8.2 when referee Calvin Berg awarded an 80th minute penalty and despite Shackleton diving the right way and getting a hand to it he couldn't deny Fisher completing his hat trick .
Further late goals to Kaleb De Groot -Green and Ollie Cassidy made the final score 10.2 to give the Royals a perfect start in their first home match.
