Poshan Weekly is a knowledge dissemination tool intended to share research, evidence, policy and programme guidelines as well as tools on Maternal and Child Nutrition with colleagues around India.
The third Poshan Pakhwada, as a Jan Andolan campaign, started on 16th March 2021. Since September 2018, when the first Poshan Maah started followed by the first Poshan Pakhwada in 2019, the program, partners, stakeholders, community groups and frontline workers have shown commendable enthusiasm in making them a success through innovation, intensity and high numbers of people/families/children reached on poshan themes.
Campaigns are crucial to the success of Poshan Jan Andolan as they provide multiple opportunities for exposure through a consistent theme that links program activities together. These two annual campaigns provide nutrition benefits to the individuals and/or society, typically within a given time period, by means of organized communication activities.
The 2021 Poshan Pakhwada focusses on following themes:
1. Food forestry
2. Eat Right India
3. AYUSH for well-being
4. Yoga for health
5. Poshan vatika
6. Poshan panchayat
7. Poshan ke 5 Sutra
8. Traditional recipes
Since 2018, Government with multiple development partners has developed communication, advocacy and training assets which are available on public sites for easy access, download and use. The sites which host assets relevant for Poshan Pakhwada themes are listed in the resources section below.
I hope you find this useful.
Best wishes for Poshan Pakhwada!
Kind Regards,
