ARTS AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
ACTION PLAN 2021-24

Thanks to everyone that provided feedback about the future of Arts and Cultural Development in our region as part of our 'Let's Mix it Up' campaign. We've now incorporated your feedback into an amended version of our Draft Arts and Cultural Development Action Plan 2021– 24.

Tell us, did we get it right?

We're also keen to hear your thoughts about our art collection.

Please spend a few minutes to provide your feedback on our Your Say website by Monday 12 April 2021.

Once this strategic plan is approved by your elected members, it will guide our arts and cultural development activities for the next four years.

COMMUNITY FEEDBACK SUMMARY
You told us that arts and cultural development is valued in our community, it builds resilience and improves wellbeing. There is a need for greater engagement with Traditional Owners and First Nation people. Public art is very popular as it brings us together and makes our city more vibrant. Finally, supporting and developing our local creatives and their industry is important for our city.

OUR FIVE GOALS ARE:

  1. Provide opportunities for residents and visitors to value our places and connect through public art
  2. Develop and support arts and cultural experiences that are responsive to and reflective of local Aboriginal culture
  3. Support skill development and job growth for local creatives
  4. Provide opportunities for people of all cultures, ages and abilities to connect and experience arts and culture activities
  5. Build community resilience and wellbeing through arts and culture.
