Get on your dancing shoes....
There are all kinds of dance, and there are all kinds of ways it can support mental health and wellbeing. We've been checking out some exciting work that showcases the benefits of dance for mental health (and the less said about our team's dance skills the better!)
BROAD: Building Resilience and Overcoming Adversity through Dance Drama
This innovative evidence based theatre programme designed to increase resilience & well-being in people in custody, secure settings and hospitals / mental health units. The programme research report from UCLAN Psychosocial Research Unit is available to download here or read a conversation between Directors at Odd Arts and Company Chameleon, reflecting on their learning from one another, and on what Dance Drama can do to impact people experiencing incarceration, trauma and other barriers.
Three Academies Dance (2017)
