Hey, we're still here. Here's a few pictures along with a short update on the last few months. Also, please pray for Tanzania as the president passed away on the 17th. Pray for a peaceful transition.

Friendship

Often times when we go without something important in our lives it makes us more appreciative when we do get it. One of those things for us has been friendship. For much of the past year, we, especially Rachelle, have struggled with loneliness. This past January, we were so thankful to have Rachel Lewis come and join us for a month and a half in the village. We had wonderful times of fellowship, prayer, and thinking up new ideas on village cooking. We’re also thankful for the friendships we’re developing with some of the Kisi. In the picture here is Baraka, who’s been helping us with language learning. He’s turned into a good friend and we ask that you pray for him and his family to come to know God.
Seeds

About a year ago Rachelle and her language helper Mama Gifti planted some lemon grass sprouts in our front yard. They took off and now many of our neighbors come and pick them to boil in their tea. Our pumpkins and corn also did well this year and we’ve been able to share them with our neighbors. There’s many times when we’ve wished that our ministry would grow as fast as our garden, but we have to realize that we’re still planting seeds, and its up to God to make them grow.
Children

When we first got to the village, the parents all wanted us to teach their kids English. This has helped us to get to know some of the kids in the village. Every Sunday afternoon the neighbor kids come over to our house to watch video. They’ll help us wash the dishes, sweep and mop the floor, and then they’ll sit down on a mat in front of the tv and watch a show. Recently we’ve been watching the King of Glory done in Swahili. Pray that these children would come to understand the reason Jesus came to earth, died on the cross, and rose again.
Boat rides

It’s hard to believe but we’re actually starting to get used to the long boat trip in and out of the village. Though its taken a while, Micah is starting to adapt to village life. He’s been able to make some friends and is always bringing them in on some project he’s working on. Soon, instead of traveling by boat down the lake we’ll be travelling by plane back to the U.S. Before then, pray for us to wrap things up well during our last month in the village. In May we’re planning to spend a few weeks in the city before our visa expires and we travel back to the U.S. Thanks again for all your prayers and we’re looking forward to seeing you again.
