Happy Friday readers!

In this issue we’re thinking about the Future of Work.

Technology can develop at a faster pace than the laws in place to regulate it. The Uber case is a key example of this in practice, and the law is just catching up.

The landmark decision to treat Uber drivers as employees rather than self-employed workers will have a massive impact on the gig economy. Mike Rix from the GMB union has commented that, “this is the end of the road for bogus self-employment.”

This legal decision may have a ripple effect across many different employers, platforms and economies, but it is just one of the ways we see the nature of work evolving.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our routines, our perceived capabilities and our preferences when it comes to work. Today, we’re taking a look at how all of this may shape a Fairer Future of Work.

Hope you enjoy reading this newsletter, and please do get in touch if you have any suggestions or feedback!

Have a great weekend,
