We woke up to great news this morning!
The CDC says schools can safely space students three feet apart, instead of six. Read the full article here.
We now need the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to adopt this new change as soon as possible. Please take the following actions…
-
A group of Chino Valley Parents started a petition to the state demanding CDPH update their guidelines. Sign the petition .
-
Send an email to CDPH, the CA Department of Education (CDE) and Governor Newsom demanding California update reopening guidelines immediately. Feel free to use the following form letter and personalize as needed. (CDPH, CDE & Governor Newsom’s contact forms/emails are included below.)
The research is clear. With masks and proper ventilation, 3 feet of distance between students is safe. Would CDPH please immediately update their guidelines to a safe but reasonable distance to match those of the CDC (3 feet) and the WHO (1 meter) so that my school district is able to reopen fully?
Under current CDPH physical distancing guidelines our district is unable to open fully and will indefinitely remain in hybrid. Hybrid instruction continues to fail students in so many ways. (INCLUDE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE HERE)
Thank you!
