What's up @PCF?

for the Fifth Sunday

in Lent

Thank you...

to Chuck Vandergraaf for arranging online worship with Windsor Park United and Bethel Mennonite, and for producing the "what's up" for these past two weeks. Rob is back from study leave. If you see the candles lit on the communion table and the door open at our office and meeting space in the Sunova Mall Rob is happy to visit, one household at a time, still distanced and masked please. Now that the weather is getting better, if you would like to meet up outdoors for a visit, give Rob a call or text at 204-753-8439 or email minister@pinawa.church.

Who in the world...

was Gideon and why is he mentioned in the Bible?

Learn more about him, the cultural, military, and religious milieu of his time in four one-hour ZOOM study sessions on Friday mornings at 10, starting on April 02 and ending on April 23 (just in time for the gardening season).

No final exam but an opportunity to delve into a small part of Hebrew history and to exchange views, and for fellowship.

Contact Chuck at biblestudy@pinawa.church or call 204-753-8402 if you’re interested.

Holy Week...

begins next Sunday, March 28, with Palm Sunday. There will be worship videos online for Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. In addition, we will be offering a "live" Easter morning Communion Service by ZOOM at 10am. Look for the link in next week's "what's up" and call or contact Rob at the church office (soon!) if you need any help ZOOMing.

Continuing limits on outdoor gatherings, and (paradoxically) growing weekend tourist traffic on the trails, make it impossible to offer our Good Friday Way of the Cross or Easter Sunrise service this year.

If MB moves to "Orange" levels of alert at the end of the month, and the weather continues to be lovely, we are hoping to be able to gather for outdoor worship soon!

Our mailbox...

at the office has had an unfortunate encounter with a shopping cart and is "out of order". While it is being repaired / replaced you can still slip things under the door. Offerings and donations can also be dropped off in the mailbox at the home of our Treasurer, Karen Ross at 4 McGregor Crescent.

Enjoy your journey...

through the Lent Garden each week. Start by clicking on the bible on the park bench. With one click you will open up a collection of daily bible readings, children’s bible story readings, prayers, and questions to think about throughout each week. Once you’ve got these devotions at hand, go ahead and click around the rest of the garden to discover so much more.
