This is not my best newsletter idea—mostly because I've already included half these sneakers in outfit editions and will likely include the other half in future ones—but it is one of my most honest ones. I've genuinely been debating my next sneaker purchase for spring, and at this point, I need your help deciding. Because despite the new gig, I am nowhere near cool enough to be classified as a sneakerhead (for that, sign up here). But I am starting to figure out a thing or two, and these are my favorite styles right now.

The Neutral Sneakers.
For a very unknown reason, I am very into a white sneaker with tan gums right now. It's like tonal dressing for your feet, which sounds sophisticated.

What could be more ideal for a springtime pandemic than statement-making pastel sneakers? I would genuinely like to know.

The Sleek Sneakers.
I used to think all-black sneakers were the ugliest thing in the world, and then I moved to New York. It turns out they're just as sleek with a pair of black leggings as they are with black socks and biker shorts, and it also turns out that's all I wear now.

The New Dad Sneakers.
As the chunky, fashion dad shoe is on its way out, more authentic dad brands are on their way in. I've stared at these brands long enough now (and spotted them on an IRL Cool Girl on the subway) that I think I might actually be open to joining the hypebeasts on this one.

I am once again asking you to help me justify these sneakers, which are not that different from the first section. Are they even that different from anything I own? No. But are they super cute? Yeah...
