Members' corner - What's new and happening

>> 2021 Extraordinary General Assembly meeting (30 Mar. 2021, online)
As agreed in the 2021 General Assembly there will be a remote extraordinary General Assembly session held on 30 March 2021 at 10:00 Central European Summer Time. This short GA will vote on the proposed Secretariat transition plan and will also vote on outstanding budgetary items. Details of the meeting, including links, agenda and overview of discussion points will be circulated later this week.

All GA representatives are asked to try to ensure that either they or their substitute will be available. If no eligible voter from your institute can attend, please inform the EuroMarine Secretariat ahead of time. The meeting is expected to take about 2 hours.
Please note that clocks will advance the Sunday before the meeting!

>> OYSTER launch their Mentorship Programme
EuroMarine's early career researchers group OYSTER have opened their new Mentorship Programme to mentees and wish to thank those General Assembly members who have volunteered as mentors. General Assembly members are still welcome to volunteer and OYSTER asks that all recipients of the newsletter advise interested mentees they can learn more about the programme and mentors here. Applicants or interested mentors/mentees should e-mail mentorship@euromarinenetwork.eu.

European Maritime Day 2021, 20-21 May 2021, Online and Den Helder (Netherlands)

The European Maritime Day (EMD) Conference is the annual two-day event during which Europe’s maritime community meet to network, discuss and forge joint action on maritime affairs and sustainable blue economy. The conference will be held in a hybrid format (virtually and limited physical attendance) for the first time this year.

SOLAS 'Bite-size' Gas Transfer at Water Surfaces Symposium 2021, 19 May 2021, Online

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the main 8th International Symposium on Gas Transfer at Water Surfaces has been postponed to 17-22 May 2022. To maintain an active community, a free online "bite-size" event will be held on 19 May 2021.
