        Your Thoughts Needed

to support forest climate adaptation

Bonneville Environmental Foundation, with funding from the Climate Resilience Fund, is working with local partners here in the Rogue Basin to improve opportunities for climate adaptation in forests. They are seeking knowledge and information on woody plants, climate adaptation and assisted migration-related actions. The voices of nursery, restoration, and research practitioners are especially needed.
  • The survey will take an estimated 20-30 minutes.
  • The information you provide will allow BEF to compile and share a regional snapshot of priorities, concerns, and questions to guide future newsletters, virtual convenings and webinars
  • Responses will be aggregated; all personal information will remain confidential.
A note from BEF: We tried to make questions relevant to numerous respondents but where we failed, please do your best to answer or let us know your thoughts. Although we recognize that many species and factors comprise and influence forests, this survey focuses on woody plants.

Native Plants: What to Plant & Where to Buy this Spring

We know many of you were disappointed that the RNPP Native Plant Sale was cancelled this spring. If we'd had plants to offer, we would have loved to share them with you and have lots of great conversations about what to plant and why. However, there are still native plants available here in the valley, so we put together a comprehensive list of where to find them. The second resource offers some of the "what to plant and why" that we wanted to provide in person!

  1. How to Find Native Plants in 2021 - We did the research on which southern Oregon nurseries have native plants for sale this year, as well as pop-up sales, wholesalers and more. Available as a blog post or a .pdf available here for easy sharing.
  2. Native Pollinator Plants for Southern Oregon - This reference guide from Southern Oregon Monarch Advocates is a great place to start if you are new to native plants and have a soft spot for bees and butterflies.

That's it - Happy Spring!
