CBCA 2021 Book of the Year Award

Shortlist Announcement


Come celebrate the announcement of the CBCA Shortlist!

We have two special guest speakers Rosemary Thomas, who will share her passion and knowledge as the past CBCA Book of the Year Awards coordinator and Lisa Fuller, author of Ghost Bird (Honour Book, Older Readers 2020).

Entry includes drinks (wine/champagne and non-alcoholic beverages) and nibbles.

Books will, of course, be available to purchase on the night.

This even can be used for 2 hours of Teacher Identified Professional Learning (Certificates available on the night).
 

When: Tuesday 30 March 2021
Where: The Book Cow - Bookshop, 47 Jardine St,                            Kingston (opp Green Square)
Time: 6pm
Register: All must register via Trybooking.
       CBCA members - Free
        Non-members   - $15

Laurie Copping Award

The Laurie Copping Award for Distinguished Service to Children’s Literature in the ACT is a biennial award of The Children’s Book Council of Australia ACT Branch, the accent being on Service. A recipient of the award, then, will have given service well beyond his or her professional association with children’s literature.

The Communications Subcommittee recently launched a new CBCA National Instagram account @cbcaustralia (@cbca was unavailable). This, along with our Facebook and Twitter accounts, will be used to communicate our key announcements and to share interesting and relevant content with our members and followers. Just a reminder to use the hashtag #CBCA2021 when promoting any events.
