Silent Auction Fundraiser: Original Barrie Farrell painting

Barrie Farrell paintingVolunteer Brenda Scoular has been donated a 20" x 20" original acrylic painting by boatbuilder and artist Barrie Farrell, who lived and worked in the Pender Harbour area for many years and built over 300 boats in his lifetime.

The painting is being auctioned off with proceeds to be donated to Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society and The Rotary Club of Pender Harbour in appreciation for the work done to refurbish Forest View Cemetery (at Warnock Rd. & Francis Peninsula Rd.) over the past 2 years.

Please submit your bid to Brenda Scoular by email brendascoular@gmail.com or phone 604 883 2701 by April 15, 2021. The winning bid will be split equally between the two community organizations. Thank you for organizing, Brenda!

Thanks for renewing your membership for 2021

Thank you to everyone who has renewed and donated in recent weeks. Your donations and memberships help us maintain the Sarah Wray Heritage Centre, and to gather, archive and share harbour history, including our digital archive collection. A healthy membership list helps when we apply for grants. If you haven't yet renewed your membership for 2021 (5-year memberships are also available), please do as soon as possible.

And now it's even easier to renew and donate via eTransfer! View membership details and instructions on our website.

Volunteers needed: all skills welcome

Our Board of Directors is in dire need of a Secretary, and we also have other open positions. All skills are welcome! If you're interested in helping preserve Pender Harbour's history and being involved in some fantastic and fun events throughout the year, including April Tools and Pender Harbour Days (coming back in 2022), consider volunteering on our board or as a general volunteer. Please email info@penderharbourheritage.ca for more details about available Board positions or to put your name on our general volunteer list.

Happy Spring!

Sincerely,

Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society
Board of Directors
