Dear Parish Family,
March 31, 2021
Happy Holy Week and Easter! This is a very sacred time of the year when we remember and participate in Jesus' Passion, death, and Resurrection. Tomorrow begins the Easter Triduum! See below what each day of the Easter Triduum commemorates and how you can take part in reflecting and reliving Jesus' last few days.

Registrations for in-person Easter Masses and Holy Week services have completely filled up since registration opened near the beginning of March. We are excited for the response and for the opportunity to welcome some of you back for the first time. Another way you can join us for each liturgy is through our Drive-In/Tune-In option or through our Live Stream on our Facebook, YouTube, or website. All Live Streams can be viewed at the time of the event or later. More information about each service follows.

What is Drive-In/Tune-In? This option for Mass is available to anyone. "Drive-in" to St. Patrick's West parking lot and "tune-in" to 87.9 FM on your radio to listen to the Mass being celebrated in church from the safety of your own vehicle. Eucharistic Ministers are available to bring you Communion as well.
Holy Thursday
Holy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus with His disciples where He instituted the Eucharist and the priesthood. The Last Supper is celebrated at every Mass during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. During the Last Supper, Jesus washed the feet of His disciples who would become the first priests of the Catholic Church.

On the night of Holy Thursday, Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in our church where the faithful remain in the presence of the Eucharist just as the disciples kept a vigil with Christ.

Join us for Holy Thursday Mass on April 1 at 7:00PM. Register to attend our Drive-In/Tune-In option. Or, join us via Live Stream on our Facebook, YouTube, or website! Adoration will be available in the church after Mass until Midnight. Enter the church through the East side main doors.
Good Friday
Good Friday commemorates the arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. This is a day of prayer and fasting. Traditionally, there is no Mass and no celebration of the Eucharist on Good Friday. Communion comes from hosts consecrated on Holy Thursday. Everything on the altar is stripped bare.

During the Good Friday service, we honor the cross to show respect for Christ's sacrifice for our sake.

Join us for the Good Friday Service on April 2 at 3:00PM. Register to attend our Drive-In/Tune-In option. Or, join us via Live Stream on our Facebook, YouTube, or website!
Stations of the Cross
Pray the Stations of the Cross with us virtually!
We will be Live Streaming Stations of the Cross at Noon on Good Friday. Join us for this using our Facebook, YouTube, or website. You may watch the recorded stations later as well. Follow along with the responses here.
Holy Saturday
Holy Saturday is a day of preparation when we remember Jesus' entombment. This is a day of quiet and prayerful reflection on the true gravity of the crucifixion and Jesus' redemptive sacrifice.

At sunset, the vigil begins outside the church with a blessing of the Easter fire and the Paschal candle. The Paschal candle will be used throughout the season of Easter and throughout the coming year at baptisms and funerals, reminding all that Christ is our light.

Join us for the Easter Vigil Mass on April 3 at 8:00PM. Register to attend our Drive-In/Tune-In option. Or, join us via Live Stream on our Facebook, YouTube, or website!
Easter Basket Blessing
The Easter Basket blessing is on April 3 at 9:00 AM. This is a Polish and Eastern European tradition of preparing symbolic foods in a decorated basket to enjoy as the first meal of Easter. Learn more about this tradition here.
Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday is the glorious celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead. His resurrection marks the triumph of good over evil, sin, and death. The Easter season begins on Easter Sunday and lasts for 50 days, ending on Pentecost Sunday.

Join us for Easter on April 4 at 8:00 AM, 10:30 AM, or 12:30 PM. Register to attend our Drive-In/Tune-In option. Or, join us via Live Stream at 10:30 AM on our Facebook, YouTube, or website!
Easter Flowers: Each year, St. Patrick receives donations for our Easter flowers in memory or in honor of a loved one. We place each name in our prayer basket underneath the altar and will pray for them at Mass.
Online Giving
Support the Mission. Our mission is funded by your generosity to St. Patrick Parish. We rely on your support all during the year, but especially during Easter and Christmas. In particular during this pandemic time, it is all the more needed and appreciated. You may make a donation for Easter, the Sunday Offertory, or other funds here. Thank you!

Divine Mercy Sunday
St. Faustina and Divine Mercy
The Feast of Divine Mercy was instituted by Pope John Paul II on April 22, 2000, in response to the requests made by Jesus through St. Faustina, to whom He appeared and spoke on many occasions. She recorded Jesus' messages in her diary, titled, The Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul, which was first published in 1981.

Our Lord said to Faustina, "Encourage souls to say the Chaplet which I have given you. ...Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. ...When they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the Just Judge, but as the Merciful Savior."
Join us in celebrating the Feast of Divine Mercy on Sunday, April 11. In addition to the regular weekend Masses, there will be Confession and Adoration from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the church. At 3:00 PM, the Divine Mercy chaplet will be sung before the Blessed Sacrament. Pre-registration is not required.

A plenary indulgence is granted to those who publicly venerate the image of Divine Mercy, perform personal acts of veneration and mercy, go to Confession during Lent or Easter, and receive Holy Communion on the Feast of Divine Mercy. The Vatican has extended this to those homebound this year as well. Read more here.
Stories of Transformed Lives in our Parish
Will and Gina Chapman graciously shared with us their story about how one friend's invitation to visit St. Patrick Parish has completely transformed their lives. Read their short testimony of spiritual growth, friendship, and conversion here
The Catholic Answer
Do you have a question about the Catholic faith? Do you ever wonder why we do certain things at Mass? Ask away with our new anonymous form on our website and we may answer it in one of our newsletters!
Today's question is:
What is the Divine Mercy Novena? A novena is nine days of prayer for a specific intention prior to a particular Feast day. On Good Friday (April 2) we will begin a Divine Mercy Novena that will end on Divine Mercy Sunday (April 11). This novena was given to Saint Faustina from Jesus on Good Friday in 1937. He said, "By this Novena (of Chaplets), I will grant every possible grace to souls."

For each of the nine days of the Novena, our Lord gave Saint Faustina a different intention to pray for. Those who pray this novena will receive many graces. Jesus said, "I desire that during these nine days you bring souls to the fountain of My mercy, that they may draw therefrom strength and refreshment and whatever grace they have need of in the hardships of life, and especially at the hour of death" (Diary, 1209).

The Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, the order to which our parish priests belong, have a strong devotion to Divine Mercy and spreading its message across the world. Learn more about the novena and find the daily prayers on their website here
