23 March 2021
Dear members of TI Sweden's Corporate Supporters Forum (CSF)

It seems like spring has kick-started in many ways - not only in terms of warmer weather but also in terms of the event calendar and report launches. Tomorrow on 24 March, we recommend you to keep an eye open on our website for a progress report assessing the EU member states transposition progress of the whistleblowing directive. Also, OECD will organise two business integrity roundtables - see below for more information on both matters.

We will get back to both the progress report and the roundtables in upcoming newsletters, so no worries if you won't be able to make time tomorrow.

best regards,
TI Sweden's CSF team

EU law requires companies to address human rights and environmental standards
The legislative initiative report (adopted on 10 March) calls for the urgent adoption of a binding EU law that ensures companies are held accountable and liable when they harm - or contribute to harming - human rights, the environment and good governance.

Due diligence requires companies to identify, address and remedy their impact on human rights and the environment throughout their value chain. Rules should apply to companies operating in EU internal market, including those from outside the EU. The European Commission has announced it will present its legislative proposal on the matter later this year.

Holding power to account - Transparency International's global strategy
TI's Strategy "Holding Power to Account for the Common Good" is dedicated to leading the next decade’s work against corruption by showing what it will take to achieve a more positive future for all.

TI Sweden's national strategy for the period 2021-2030 will be presented after our annual meeting in April.
Report launch: Progress Report on the transposition of the EU Directive on whistleblowing

The Report highlights the challenges ahead to ensure harmonisation of effective whistleblower protection across Europe.
