Making the 6th District Great Again!

Dear Friends and Fellow Republicans

Saturday's 6th District Meeting

At the last District GOP Committee Meeting, we had a nice crowd, and several candidates came to talk to the Committee and the audience.  Among them were Winsom Sears, Jason Miyares, Sergio De La Pena, Octavia Johnson, Tim Hugo.  Augusta County Clerk of the Court was an advocate for Kirk Cox.  Other candidates had advocates as well, including Glenn Youngkin, Pete Snyder, and others.

The Committee also elected Veronica Shikovski to be our new Secretary - so welcome to Veronica.  A special thanks to Jan Lowry who also ran for Committee Secretary as well.  We also welcomed Skye Riggleman as our new Young Republicans Representative.  Both Skye and Veronica will be welcome additions to our group.

Maybe most importantly, the Committee endorsed unanimously 4 different resolutions, among them being a Rockingham County Resolution encouraging the RNC to show loyalty to the GOP Grassroots.  This resolution, which was written by a team led by Rockingham GOP Chair Daryl Borquist, encouraged the Republican National Committee to support ballot integrity initiatives in all 50 United States, that because a few overeager protesters broke into the US Capitol, ,that the rights to free speech and freedom of assembly are paramount to a functioning democracy, and that the Republican voters need to be listened to, and that the GOP is the party of the grassroots, not the party of lobbyists and special interests.  A special thanks to Team Rockingham for passing this resolution.

The Resolutions Committee, Chaired by Robert Cook, wrote 3 other resolutions, one in support of limiting Governor's executive powers during times of emergency, one in support of the concept that life begins at conception and that abortion is murder, and last but certainly not least, a resolution calling for 13 different ways that ballot integrity must be sacrosanct and that only legal ballots must be counted.

If you want copies of any of these resolutions, please email and ask - and they will be sent.  Most likely from a different email address, but they will be sent to anyone who wants a copy.

Frederick County 2A Meeting

Last night, Susan Shick, of the Frederick County 2A movement, hosted a candidate forum outside of Winchester.  All local candidates on the ballot in 2021, House of Delegates candidates, and Statewide candidates were invited.  Among those in attendance were:

Supervisor Blaine Dunn, Supervisor Dave Stegmaier, Mr. Stegmaier's primary opponent Josh Ludwig, Winchester City Council Ward 1 candidate Jorge Gonzales, Delegates Dave La Rock and Bill Wiley, Governor candidates Pete Doran, Lt. Governor Candidates Glenn Davis, Puneet Aliuwalia, Lance Allen, and AG candidate Chuck Smith.  Tim Hugo, Glenn Youngkin, Pete Snyder, Jason Miyares, and other candidates sent surrogates.  Each attendee was encouraged to ask questions of the candidates - all of whom gave strong speeches on just what the 2nd Amendment means to them.

I had the chance to speak to the crowd, and reminded everyone that each of us has a duty to be involved, and that the 4 most important words in the US Constitution are:  SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!

A few thoughts

Didn't want to take up too much time last night, but these words were left unspoken last night, and should now be said here:

There is no polite way to say this, but the governing class does not like each of you, each of us, as a person.  There is no doubt of this.  From 2010-2015, life expectancy in the US declined, one of the few times ever in recorded history that this has occurred.  Normally people would be outraged, but the Mainstream Media has great power over us, and their greatest power is their ability to not report things that we need to know.  If the ruling class in Richmond had any respect for any of us, they'd have eased up restrictions on businesses in the late spring of last year.  In their desire to make sure we were scared that the pandemic would spread, they kept us scared of anything and everything.  COVID is real, there's no doubt of this fact.  But COVID is not the black plague, nor is it the Spanish Flu.  Most people who have died because of COVID, would have lived if not for the other underlying issues (cancer, emphysema, etc).  The death of any person is tragic, and a loss to all of us.  But so is our way of live, and the rugged individualism that makes us unique in world history.

The end result was 15,000 unnecessary deaths in NY State, thousands more in California, Pennsylvania, and maybe in Virginia too.  For all their talk about compassion, the Democrats are anything but compassionate to the elderly and sick.  Governor Cuomo is literally the most efficient serial killer in US history.

The political elites conspired together from both parties to take out President Trump, because he was speaking truth to power on our behalf.  So now we have open borders, gas prices are up by a dollar per gallon, we have a president who is in serious physical decline, and we are bombing countries with no real provocation.  But hey, no mean tweets?

Dr. Fauci, who was hired to be distributor of information and nothing more, has now become a political player, who recently was saying that even if you take a COVID vaccine, you should still be wearing a mask.  The Mainstream Media does not want to dare take on this man who is, so the only one who can challenge Dr. Fauci's more bizarre pronouncements is a fellow Doctor, Senator Rand Paul.  Dr. Fauci has said that we should respect the World Health Organization, the organization which covered up information for China.  Just think if we had better information earlier on the Virus, how many more lives may have been saved.  But for China covering up what happened and the WHO enabling China.

I could go on and on for hours.

One of the things that our Congressman Ben Cline does is publish a weekly newsletter, letting everyone know what is happening on Capitol Hill and around the District.  Transparency like this is what each elected official at any level should be doing.  You have a  need to know what is happening in your government and around the 6th Congressional District.  Thank you Ben for keeping us informed.

Each of you, each of us, has a responsibility to be active, and involved in each part of the political process.  As my good friend Doc Troxel always says, it's not just enough to vote.  We need to be involved in the nomination process.  Because if the party of Reagan runs a Democrat against a Democrat, the Democrat will win each time.  We need to be the party of Reagan, painting in bold colors, no pale pastels.  And if your elected representative is not doing what is important to their constituents, but only pays attention to the donor class - you have a responsibility to send them to the ashheap of history.  Don't ever let anyone take this away from you.  It is our power.  And belongs only to We the People.

Get involved - be energized.  Don't be a couch potato.  I see too many people saying to others why vote - doesn't matter.  That's just what the political establishment wants you to do - be depressed so that you won't be involved.  At a local Rockbridge meeting a few days ago, several were lamenting that the local newspapers didn't listen to a anyone who wasn't a liberal had to say.  I had to tell everyone that they have the ability to form their own newspaper if they so choose.  For those of you outside of Shenandoah County, the Northern Virginia Daily controls the news flow.  And they - like so many other news outlets, has great power by not reporting on an important story.  So a group of concerned citizens formed something called the Shenandoah Freedom Press.  And this newspaper, which is mailed weekly, has been letting Shenandoah County citizens what is happening in their County government away from what the Daily wants everyone to know.  I have high hopes for this Rockbridge group.  If Morgan McCown and her friends in Rockbridge are the future of our Party, the GOP and our future will be fine.  It will be a tough slog, but a winnable one.

Stay strong, and be active.  The future of the Republic depends on each of us.

I remain

your servant

JM
