A Call to Action for Parliamentary Collaboration on COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution
February 17, 2021 - The World Bank Group and the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF (PN) co-organized a Virtual Parliamentary Briefing on Supporting Countries in Delivering the COVID-19 Vaccine on February 17, 2021. The gathering engaged legislators in a roundtable-style discussion on best practices and evidence-based policies to support inclusive and transparent immunization campaigns.

France: Mario Sander, Special Representative and Director for Europe Presents at National Assembly Hearing
PARIS, January 20, 2021 - Mario Sander, Special Representative and Director for Europe participated in a hearing at the French National Assembly with Hervé Berville MP to discuss the World Bank’s leading role in helping countries achieve stronger development outcomes, particularly in the COVID-19 context. Honorable Berville was collecting observations and multilateral perspectives for a new programming bill related to development policy solidarity and the fight against global inequalities, which was adopted unanimously in early March.

Hannah George, Head of Global Parliamentary Engagement
Hannah George joined the World Bank Global Parliamentary Engagement team in February 2021, where she leads advocacy and high-level global outreach initiatives. She brings more than 20 years of development leadership to the role, with experience in formulating strategies, establishing qualitative and technical guidelines for policy implementation, and managing reputational risk issues. Previously, she led the World Bank’s Civil Society team, worked on the World Bank’s Data Privacy Policy, and managed the Access to Information program. She has also provided vital operational support to projects and programs over the years in the areas of governance and accountability. Hannah has a Masters in Economics and a second Masters in Global Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

2021 Global Parliamentary Workshop at the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings
The 2021 Global Parliamentary Workshop will be an occasion for legislators from around the world to convene with World Bank and IMF senior management to share lessons learned and strategies to achieve a sustainable and inclusive COVID-19 recovery and strong country outcomes. It will include the second meeting of the Global Young MP Initiative.
