St. Margaret’s, Baton Rouge, Church of the Nativity, Rosedale, and St. Michael’s, Mandeville, will partner together as congregations throughout Lent, as we will read and discuss Walking the Way of Love on Zoom each Wednesday from
7-8 p.m.
Written by seven leaders in The Episcopal Church and in advisement from Presiding Bishop Curry, the book lays out a step-by-step way to nurture a profound friendship with God in Christ. Walking the Way of Love is organized according to seven practices (Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, and Rest) and three ways of being (We Seek Love; We Seek Freedom; and We Seek Abundant Life). The wisdom in this book allows people to move from the first tentative stages of wanting an experiential relationship with Jesus to having a real relationship that grows deeper every year. We will be joined by several of the authors during our discussions (So Far Courtney Cowart and Bishop Rob Wright have confirmed)
If you need financial assistance in purchasing the book, please let Fr Tommy know at rector@saintmargarets.com

OUTREACH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Outreach Committee is pleased to announce that, thanks to your generosity, we have collected enough healthy food items to hold our second Geaux Get Healthy emergency food box packing night! We will meet, with masks, at the church this Wednesday, February 25th, at 6pm. If your are able to attend, please enter through the kitchen.
Elizabeth Perry, Program Manager for the Geaux Get Healthy Program, is seeking volunteers to assist with the program that is held at the Our Lady of the Lake North Clinic on Airline Highway. There are various roles available. Normally, the hospital requires a lengthy training course, however, Elizabeth has gotten special permission to shorten this for St. Margaret volunteers. Here is the link to submit an application: HERE
For more information about what is involved contact Elizabeth.
Contemplative Prayer Sunday, March 21 @ 4PM Contemplative prayer is prayer in the quiet that opens our minds and hearts to God, who is always right here with us in the present moment. All we have to do is pause, remember and quietly express our intention to be present to God. God does the rest.
The format of our shared prayer will be periods of silence interspersed with some gentle meditative music. We will conclude with a reading from scripture and an opportunity for sharing our thoughts and experiences with one another.
*ALL must wear masks and practice social distancing* **Bring a portable chair**
