Cooking Matters at Home
classes begin soon in NC

Wednesdays at 7pm

March 24 to April 28
The Carolina Hunger Initiative is offering free online Cooking Matters at Home lessons. The lessons are designed for low-income families participating in programs such as free and reduced-price school meals, SNAP, and WIC and discuss how to purchase and prepare healthy meals and snacks on a limited budget. Below is information you can share with families who may be interested in the program.

Join us online for FREE online nutrition and cooking education lessons! The Cooking Matters at Home program shares information about buying healthy, affordable foods that families can prepare and eat together at home.

All lessons will be held via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to participants after completing the registration form. Participants have the opportunity to receive a $10 grocery store gift card. 

This spring's lesson series will be held on Wednesdays at 7pm, beginning Wednesday March 24. All lessons are held in English. See the lesson topics and register for free at CarolinaHungerInitiative.org/Cooking.

About the Carolina Hunger Initiative
The Carolina Hunger Initiative is a new project at the University of North Carolina working in collaboration with No Kid Hungry North Carolina, part of Share Our Strength’s national No Kid Hungry Campaign. Its mission is to improve access to healthy meals year-round for North Carolinians.
