Heath Huovinen and Dave Josephus from the Office of the University Architect are using existing GIS tree data sourced from Grounds Services and tightening up the accuracy by moving the point (red dot in the image) to the tree symbol, which came from a high accuracy aerial survey. The diameter of the trees as well as the common names are being updated or added to the data set. Focusing on the limits of survey, this data will be provided to the consultants so they can incorporate into the existing conditions plan for the Electrical Distribution Upgrade project design managed by Damian Lallathin from Capital Project Management.

It's NC State Day of Giving -- an annual, daylong fundraising event for the university. Among the many university programs being featured is Feed the Pack Food Pantry, which serves any member of the NC State community – students, faculty and staff – by providing access to nutritious food items and personal hygiene products. Over the last year, Feed the Pack has seen a dramatic uptick in visits – more than the preceding five years combined.
