For her company, Newfoundland-based Swiftsure Innovation, above all, their mission is to support patients by developing a device that will help prevent hospital-acquired infections for these patients. Emergence Office Hours is a monthly opportunity for Emergence clients to connect with experts and ask questions. NPC announces $50M investment fund - NPC Ventures
Natural Products Canada has launched a new $50 million investment fund. Natural Products Canada Ventures (NPC Ventures) will invest in early-stage Canadian companies developing naturally-derived alternatives to synthetic products. Read more. Also, check out NPC's upcoming events here.

PhotoDynamic receives 200K in funding from ACOA
PhotoDynamic is receiving $200,000 to develop a commercialization plan and apply for regulatory approval for its orthodontic oral hygiene product. The company plans to enter the professional orthodontic market this fall. Its product, called PD Foam and PD Tray, removes plaque using a process that combines light and an extract from a plant that grows wild in Nova Scotia. Read more.

SomaDetect unveils $6M raise
SomaDetect has closed a $6 million venture capital round led by Ag Tech Canada, and intends to use the funds to accelerate adoption of its sensor technology that monitors the health of dairy herds. Read more

Somru BioScience announces joint venture with CRO in India
Veeda Clinical Research, one of India’s leading and largest independent contract research organization (CRO) companies, and PEI's Somru BioScience Inc. are proud to announce the establishment of an innovation-centric bioanalytical laboratory in Ahmedabad, India. Read more.

Honibe launches a kid-friendly lollipop lozenge
HoneyPops is a newly launched lollipop format lozenge aimed at kids, positioned as an approachable, better-for-you product. The product has no added sugar which gives it a competitive advantage for consumers concerned about total health. Read more

Because Animals launches new website
Because Animals recently launched their new website featuring a shopping page for their dog and cat supplements and treats. They also feature a video explaining their upcoming cultured meat product containing 100% real meat.

RPS achieves "Amazon's Choice" for Supratect 
Supratect, a 100% natural fish health product that fights fungal infections, has been gaining momentum with aquarium owners on Amazon with a current rating of 4.5/5 and an "Amazon's Choice" designation.

Natasha Dhayagude nominated among top female leaders
Foodhack asked their network to nominate founders, leaders and innovators in the food tech space. Natasha Dhayagude of Chinova Bioworks using the power of mushrooms to reduce food waste with a natural, clean-label shelf-life extender was nominated under the category, "Reducing, repurposing or revitalising food waste".
