Hello, everyone. Happy almost-Spring or, as it seems, Pollengeddon 2021. Where did winter go?

Thanks be to God, we are beginning to see some relief from the Covid-19 crisis as more people become fully vaccinated. This past weekend, a show of hands at our three Masses indicated that about half of those in attendance have received the vaccine. As long as we all continue to follow the Covid-19 protocols and the vaccine becomes more widely available, we can hope that we will begin to turn the corner on the pandemic this summer.

Your parish leadership has been discussing what a more developed return to Masses might look like. Here is what we can report to you so far:
  • The Easter Vigil will be celebrated at 8:00 p.m. Holy Saturday night in the BEHS PAC. The capacity will be limited to 130 persons and will be by reservation.
  • Easter Sunday morning Mass will be celebrated in the BEHS Gym at 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. We previously talked about returning outdoors where we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Last year we had no in-person Easter Masses. I think you will agree that this year we need Easter more than ever, so we are going with a sure thing, indoor Masses. The capacity for each Mass will be around 300 people and will be by reservation only.
  • As has been our practice, the link for Mass reservations will be emailed to parishioner households several days before the Mass dates.
Our question for you is, for the season of Eastertide (that is, up to and including Pentecost on Sunday, May 23):
  • Would you prefer we remain indoors in the PAC for Sunday Masses at 9:00 & 11:00 a.m.?
  • Would you prefer we move outdoors for one Sunday Mass at 9:00 a.m.?
  • The Saturday Vigil Mass at 5:00 p.m. will remain indoors.
  • We will be indoors for all weekend Masses throughout the hot summer months.
Please let us know your preference by clicking HERE. (Pros and cons to consider: limited capacity indoors, bugs and rain outdoors, a large lacrosse net now takes up a big portion of the outdoor seating area).

Finally, because we currently must limit attendance in the PAC, if you make a reservation, please use it. Every weekend we have a large percentage of no-shows. If you need to cancel or adjust your reservation, please go online to make the change so we can accommodate as many people as the protocols permit. Thank you for being considerate of your fellow parishioners' needs.

Blessings and prayers for you and yours, everyone. Stay healthy, safe, and joyful. I'll see you at the car wash.

Yours faithfully,
Father West
