Newsletter: April 15th 2021

Hello everyone! We are so happy to be sending out this start of the season newsletter! We had a lot going on this winter, so it seems to have flown by. We are just two weeks away from opening now and we are so excited to welcome you all back to Sandaraska!

New Developments!

New Map and Sites

We know change is sometimes hard, but it was definitely time for an updated park map with a new numbering system. Say goodbye to the A's, B's, and C’s! Park addresses will now have both a street name and lot number. Given the shape of some of the roads in the park, there were some difficulties, but we hope in time everyone will get used to the new system. New mailbox numbers and labels for both hydro meter and receptacle have been ordered to help with any confusion plugging in. All horse sites have remained the same for the time being. Lot conversion information can be found by clicking the button below.

New Trails

This winter and early spring, two new trails were cut in on Sandaraska property and they look great! On the back of the map, we have marked out all Sandaraska Park trails and colour coded their use. Rollback Lane was created as an on-property horse loop that can be used to breeze out a horse or help acclimate horses new to the property. Secondly, the Micro-Track was created as a motorized loop, free from horses, that allows kids (larger kids included) to play around with time trials, create new burms, and have fun while within the park boundaries. Also, there has been some changes to the trails to allow motorized vehicles to get from the back parking lot and Ganny, to the main office without going down the public road.

For those of you who frequent these trails, please be aware of these changes and keep an eye out for the new signs indicating the trail usage type! Again, we understand change is hard, but we’re hoping the new trails will keep everybody safe and encourage the use of our beautiful forest.

Store Renovation

Seems like the most important announcement always gets pushed to the bottom. This winter, the store saw a minor renovation, but now allows us to sell hand-scooped Kawartha Dairy Ice cream and fresh coffee! The coffee has been supplied by a new company called Lost Aviator Coffee. The beans are ethically sourced, organic and sustainably sourced. It's also some of the best cup of coffee I've ever had. It was started by two recently unemployed pilots and will be available freshly brewed or can be purchased in 12 oz bags. More information on Lost Aviator coffee can be found by clicking here.

More store items are coming in daily and if you have any recommendations on store necessities, please feel free to let us know!

Fees and Deadlines

Season Fees

We will be sending out season fee invoices in the next couple of days and they are payable by cash, debit, or cheque once the office opens on May 1st. If you are unable to make it into the office during the month of May, you can send us a cheque to the mailing address at the bottom of this email. If you have any concerns or questions about paying your season fee, please do not hesitate to contact us! You can respond to this email or call us (705) 277-2000. The deadline for payment is May 31st, after which interest of 1.5% will be added.

Paddocks

We do have a waiting list for paddocks, so be sure to let us know if you would like to be added to the list. We do not have very much turnover with the paddocks, but it does put you ahead if we plan to build more in the future.

Storage Cans

For those that contacted us about sea cans, we will not be billing for these until they have been delivered to us. Just like the paddocks, it's a one-time payment that gets you the storage space for the whole year. If you missed the first phase, we will be doing a phase two later on, so keep an eye out for future newsletters!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
ON COVID RESTRICTIONS

We do require everyone to wear a mask when inside any buildings in the park, including the office, laundry, and washroom facilities. If you are unable to wear a mask in the office, please give us a call and we will find an alternative way to assist you. To assist with physical distancing, we are limiting office access to 3 customers at a time inside the building. We appreciate your patience and cooperation to keep Sandaraska Park open and safe.

Are you entering Canada from the US or abroad?
All travellers entering Canada, regardless of citizenship, must follow testing and quarantine requirements to keep Canadians safe, particularly given the new COVID-19 variants in Canada and around the world. You are permitted to quarantine in your trailer, but you are to go straight to your lot and remain there for the duration of your required isolation period. We have linked some useful resources below:
How does this affect short-stay reservations?
We have had to suspend any short-stay bookings for the first week of May due to the stay at home order implemented for Ontario. If this is extended, we will cancel any reservations affected and issue a full refund for the booking. Due to the volume of reservations and future uncertainty, we will not be able to reschedule your booking if it is cancelled under these circumstances, but you are welcome to rebook on your own.
10% OFF ALL ONLINE RESERVATIONS UNTIL MAY 1ST 2021!
For our short-stay clients, click here to access the booking portal where you can check availability and make a reservation! We have lots of new developments for you to look forward to, including improved access to the Ganaraska trails for both non-motorized and motorized use. We are booking up quickly, so don't wait!
The start of the season is fast approaching!
We hope you are all as excited as we are.
