San Jose Love Stories - Thank You, San Jose Woman's Club
San Jose Love Stories highlight acts of kindness by our community for our community.

The San Jose Woman's Club has been around since 1894 and has been dedicated to supporting the city’s cultural, educational, civic and community initiatives through charitable works. The clubhouse is a destination for social and corporate events, including weddings, arts group fundraisers and member gatherings.

The San Jose Woman's Club is rich with history but is also making the necessary changes to be relevant today and support the women of the future. SJWC's inclusivity campaign focuses on members of all backgrounds and ages in order to continue supporting women in our community. SJWC also does plenty of philanthropic work for the community, such as using rental income to support members, donating to other non-profits and giving scholarships to San Jose State students. Their Be a Dear and Donate a Brassiere Group works to collect and distribute bras and undergarments for women in transition. They host OktoBRAfest to raise funds for the Bra Bank and other women's organizations. Their CommuniTEA brunch empowers, uplifts and brings together women in transition and women of influence for an afternoon of pampering. Their Tea Talk Series is an evening speaker series about issues of social importance.
Their landmark historic venue, with a California Mission Revival style structure, features a beautiful grand ballroom fit for all types of gatherings, such as weddings, quinceañeras and musical performances. The ballroom is open for rental to individuals and organizations. To make sure guests are comfortable, the clubhouse has COVID-19 precautions in place, such as socially distancing the tables and using the outdoor area for more open space.
Enjoy a special night March 26 with San Jose Woman's Club for LUNAFEST, which is virtual this year. Grab your popcorn and favorite drink and settle in for a night of award-winning short films by, for, and about women. Tickets are $12.50 for SJWC members, $25 for friends and FREE for students. All proceeds will benefit the SJWC's Change is in the Air Campaign, which promotes inclusivity and helps fund a HVAC system for their historic Clubhouse, Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, Mosaic America and Chicken and Egg Pictures. Get your tickets.
San Jose Woman’s Club hosts activities throughout the year, including fundraisers, lectures, concerts, and events that benefit the community. You can look forward to activity groups that meet monthly to focus on a shared interest, such as bridge, mahjong, book club and more. The Club’s speaker series features current topics of interest to all.

They will welcome any women interested in joining the San Jose Woman's Club with open arms and offer friendship, support and a space to grow.
