BEAT THE BLAZE: Only you can Hack wildfires, presented by NSIN
Multiple consecutive years of catastrophic and deadly wildfires have shattered records and impacted California, Arizona, and many states across the country in devastating ways. The organizations taking part in counter wildfire operations – including the National Guard and civilian agency partners – need a way to have full situational awareness across a given area. The abundance of high-fidelity video feeds from human-operated and autonomous aerial vehicles has vastly improved emergency responders’ ability to maintain situational awareness of a disaster scene.
The Challenge is to increase the information sharing capacity and capabilities between the National Guard and civilian emergency response agencies during wildfire operations.

Get a $25 Amazon gift certificate to help make the Library better!
The ASU Library team is conducting a research study to learn more about how researchers use our Library One Search tool and about how people find resources for their research, whether that involves using the library or not. They are recruiting 20 individuals over the age of 18 to complete online Zoom interviews which involve 7 online tasks and follow up questions about your research practices. This interview will take approximately 1 hour.
Your participation in this study is voluntary. If you choose to participate, you will receive a $25 Amazon gift certificate for your time. By participating, you will help to make improvements to library research tools, such as the Library One Search, as well as how they integrate with external tools and data.
When + Where: If you are interested, please email tammy.wolf@asu.edu before April 1st to set up an interview time that works for you.
All ASU students intent on mastering leadership skills: the W. P. Carey School of Business is offering a new leadership training course this Fall, stressing more the practice, and less the theory. This pedagogical approach gives students access to not just the know-how but the actual exercise of leadership. The outcome by the end of the course is for participants to experience “being leaders” rather than just “knowing or talking about it”, so students build abilities to handle critical leadership issues with anyone, under any circumstances. This is a 3-credit course at the 400 level, and will be taught by Dr. Scott Day and Dr. Luiz Mesquita. Requirements are a minimum of 30 ASU accumulated credits and 2.5 ASU GPA or better. For more information, please do an ASU class search for ENT494, Fall of 2021.
When: Fall Semester 2021 (registration is open: limited seats available).
