Dear friends,

The elections are coming up in The Netherlands and there has therefore been a lot of political debate in the news.
On March 5th, Esther Ouwehand (leader of the Dutch Political Party for Animals which has 5 seats in parliament and one in the European parliament) was on the Dutch morning TV news show "Goedemorgen Nederland" (Good morning Netherlands) to talk about animal-welfare.
She invited Eyes on Animals as a guest to help in the discussion about the tragedies that continue to happen during animal transport, such as the recent case of hundreds of EU cattle stuck on board of a vessel for almost three months and the suffering of tens of thousands of unweaned calves on long truck and ferry journeys every year to the Netherlands for veal production.

It was a live show and Madelaine from Eyes on Animals helped give a voice to animals that normally go unseen during political elections!
