We are now accepting applications for the Friends of the Durham Library Board of Directors.

We are looking for candidates to become involved and help us to support the Durham County Library. Board members help to direct fundraising efforts used to provide needed equipment, resources, and materials for important new library programs as well as continuing popular programs. Board Meetings are held monthly with Durham Library leaders to discuss ongoing fundraising projects, develop new strategies to support the library, and provide assistance to the Friends organization.

We elect new board members every June at our Annual Meeting. If you are interested in joining our board, please fill out this application and send it to our Nominations Chair by May 1, 2022, at fodlcontact@gmail.com.

The Friends of the Durham Library is a group of volunteers that provides financial support to Durham County Library. In our 40-year history, we’ve raised more than $1 million for the library through book sales and memberships. Over 1,000 Friends contribute annually and many actively volunteer their time as well. The Friends received statewide recognition with the 2005 Frances B. Reid Award “for outstanding service to their library and their community.”
