WOMEN IN MUSIC CANADA, ATLANTIC CHAPTER    

Music·Musique NB, Music Nova Scotia, Music PEI, and Music NL are coming together with WIMC to establish an Atlantic Canadian chapter of the organization. Women in Music Canada (WIMC) is a registered non-profit organization, and one of the largest music industry associations in Canada. With chapters across the country, WIMC hosts educational, career development, and networking events alongside broader programming initiatives, industry engagements, research, and advocacy.  +++ info >

Un prix national pour Émilie Landry 

Le vidéoclip de la chanson « Bouillir d’la misère » d’Émilie Landry a remporté ce samedi soir 13 mars 2021 la première position dans la catégorie « Best Lockdown Video » aux Canadian Independant Music Video Awards. Le vidéoclip, tourné à Moncton à l’automne 2020, est une réalisation du vidéaste Louis-Philippe Chiasson. La chanson est un clin d’œil humoristique à ceux et celles qui ont tendance à se mettre des bâtons dans les roues. On y voit Émilie qui essaie, tant bien que mal, de cuisiner un simple pain, un clin d’œil évident au confinement de la dernière année. +++ info >

Canadian Folk Music Award Nomination for Mike Bravener 


Mike Bravener has been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award 2021 in the "Best Traditional Singer" category. Early last summer Mike released "Depends Upon The Pay" and it is for this album's submission that he is nominated. The awards take place on line April 10th and 11th +++ info >

Global Music Match 2.0

ECMA is pleased to announce applications are now open for Global Music Match 2021. To apply for GMM submit HERE.

This program is an intensive 16-week, artist driven program, designed to establish connections between export-ready artists around the world. Through these introductions artists will enhance their social media skill sets, interact with new audiences, create new and engaging content and have the opportunity to work together and create musical collaborations on a global scale.

Funding Supporting Arts and Live Events Workers

A total of $181.5 million will be invested in 2021–2022 to help provide work opportunities for artists and cultural workers and stabilize the overall environment. That includes New funding for COVID-safe live arts or music events that can be virtual or physically distanced and a new, one-time digital innovation fund that will enable recipients to adapt or create works to be shared with audiences online +++ info >
