Would you like a slice of cake?

We're serving birthday cake every day at our regular servings from March 23 - 26 to celebrate our 10th anniversary!

**It will probably not be as cute as the picture below but it will be more delicious.

The Promoting Food Security in Higher Education conference is a unique opportunity to explore links between campus and community-based efforts to change local food environments and build community-wide food security. Sessions will explore research, affordability, Indigenous food sovereignty, student leadership and food service experiences to catalyze our campus communities for whole systems change. You can register for individual sessions here.

My cooking recs

I love budgetbytes.com for their simple, delicious food that isn't too expensive to cook (sorry recipe websites, I am not investing in almond extract, rare Chilean peppers, and potato starch just for this one side dish).

One of my favorite cookbooks is The Enchanted Broccoli Forest by Mollie Katzen... it's hand-lettered (!) and super homey (for me at least... my Mom was a hippie so stuff like Squash Bread and Tofu in Peanut Sauce is comforting to me!) . My copy is so worn that pages are falling out.

Sexton Survey

We want to help with food insecurity at Sexton! Take part in our community outreach process so we can serve you as best as we can.

Here is our survey for Sexton students - please forward it to any Sexton students you know!

Did you know 46% of Dalhousie students are food insecure, and 9.1% are severely food insecure? Here's a link to the study.

Sweet Affirmations

"My body is not wrong or bad for being triggered and having a hard time letting go."

"You are allowed to change and it does not mean that the things you said or felt about yourself before were wrong or untrue. Change is not shameful."

"I do not need to be 'healed' to be in loving relationships."

"I am allowed to be complicated and appreciated in my complexity."

"I appreciate the things my body can do."
