Free Learning Series, “Little Kids, Big World,” Featured at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum
BISMARCK, N.D. – Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free interactive learning series, “Little Kids, Big World,” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
"Little Kids, Big World" classes are offered in a large public space with social distancing considerations. Each child is provided with their own supplies. The programs are Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Children and their parents or guardians are asked to meet at the east entrance information desk.
April 2 "Dino Egg Hunt." Search the grounds around the ND Heritage Center for hidden eggs. 11:30 a.m. Preregistration is required. Limited to 50 participants.
April 3 "It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a bunny?" 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Make a launcher and watch those colorful marshmallow spring bunnies soar!
April 5 "Dinosaur Eggs." Dinosaur eggs have been discovered frozen in ice. Use science to "crack the case" on dinosaur eggs. Preregistration is required.
April 10 "Spring Birds." Learn about the birds you might see in your backyard this spring, and make a sweet treat for them.
April 11 "Dinosaur Bones." Create your own dinosaur skeletons and learn about the different dinosaur bones found in North Dakota.
April 17 "Mighty Mosasaurs." Hear Paleontologist Becky Barnes discuss the book she wrote about mosasaurs and receive a dinosaur-making activity to take home.
April 24 "Gardening in North Dakota." Gardening is important to many people in North Dakota. Learn about the plants people grow and start a plant for your own garden.
April 25 "Spring Flowers." Flowers begin to grow in Spring. Use shapes to create your own flower while learning about flowers found in North Dakota.
April 30 "Bubbles Everywhere." Springtime is a great time to have fun with bubbles. Join us to create bubble paintings. This program will be held outdoors, weather permitting.
May 1 "Parachutes." Did you know that people use parachutes to jump out of airplanes? Create your own parachute and watch it drop!
