On March 10, Congress passed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan (ARP) (summary of ARP) into law. Absent new action by Congress, the ARP will trigger a 4% reduction to Medicare payments in 2022. The ARP also did not extend a temporary delay of the 2% Medicare sequestration cuts which expire after March 31.

Shortly after the ARP passed, Congress introduced new legislation (H.R. 1868) that if enacted would prevent the 6% cumulative cuts to Medicare from taking effect by completely eliminating the 4% reduction set for 2022 and by extending the 2% sequestration delay through the end of 2021.

ACAAI strongly supports this bill and encourages you to contact your Representative and Senators and urge them to support H.R. 1868.
