If you are looking for individual barrelage numbers, please read to the end.

Highlights:
  • We increased the number of independent brewing companies from 86 to 91.
  • We have 110 licensed breweries in the state and 123 locations
  • Remarkably, barrelage only decreased by 8% in 2020
  • However, the median barrelage production dropped by 36%
  • Both median and average production fell to their lowest levels in 5 years.
Individual brewery numbers varied wildly and there as many good stories as bad.

The report is based on public data that anyone can request from the state. It's generally a terrible data set that has duplicates and miss-entries.  The state doesn't combine common ownership and does not keep historical data. As always, if you see an error, please let me know. Getting the data in a usable format takes considerable time, but access to it is a benefit of your membership.

If you are interested in seeing the complied data set with individual brewery barrelage numbers, we will release this to the voting member upon request by email. When you request the data, we will send a survey with a few follow-up questions that will help us understand the state-of-the-state of Arizona Brewing.

Cheers!
