There's Still Time to Get Your Rear in Gear with Roper PT!

More Than a Race: Get Your Rear in Gear Charlotte on
Sunday, March 21, 2021

Roper Physical Therapy will be participating as a team for the Get Your Rear in Gear race in Charlotte on Sunday, March 21st. We invite you to join us in supporting an important cause that is near and dear to many of us at Roper PT! Get Your Rear in Gear is dedicated to colorectal cancer with the goal of preventing more deaths due to a lack of awareness and prevention. The money raised through the race is invested into the local community to increase awareness, screenings, and prevention. Get Your Rear in Gear is a 5K Run/Walk & Kids’ Fun Run at Independence Park, 300 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte. The proceeds will go to the Colon Cancer Coalition, a non-profit dedicated to increasing awareness, education, and prevention of colorectal cancer.

Due to covid-19, Get Your Rear in Gear has an in-person option (with staggered starting times for social distancing) as well as a virtual option. Join or support the Roper Physical Therapy Team through the link below to help us raise $1000 for this worthy cause! You can walk, run, or be a virtual supporter!

Join Us for Tai Chi at Roper PT!

Our new Tai Chi series started this week. If you missed it, no worries! This series continues for the next 5 weeks on Mondays from 11 am to 12 pm with in-person and virtual options!

Roper PT is asking for a $60 donation to our Get Your Rear in Gear team to participate in the series. Once you have donated, you can register using our “register for classes” tab using the link in our bio.

We hope you join us as Alex Japit leads us through an incredible 6-week experience. He holds a black belt in Tai Chi and Shaolin Kung Fu. Tai Chi is a Chinese Martial Art that is characterized by slow, flowing, and coordinated movement. This is a great class to work on balance & coordination.

Specialty Classes at Roper PT

Next week, Roper PT is offering a Morning Meditation class with Rachel Gorman, PT, DPT, OCS, PYT on Tuesday, March 23rd at 9:30 am as well as Restorative Yoga class with Cay Moore PT, PYT-C on Friday, March 26th at 9 am!

Meditation helps you focus your thoughts in efforts to be present, and eliminate the stream of thoughts about things you can’t control. Restorative Yoga class is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental, and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. The use of props makes it easier for you to maintain balance while you are stimulating and relaxing your body.
