(RE)VIEW
A diverse collective of five artists reviewing overlooked places in the margins of Blackburn to create engaging artworks.

Until the 31st of March on Kickstarter we are launching (RE)VIEW, which is an exciting new art collaboration by Susan Brazendale, Amelia Baron, Kymberly Westall, Francis Martin , & Christian Bell.

(Re)view aims to bring to Blackburn a series of interventions designed to encourage the viewer/passer-by to review their line of vision.
Through modern and alternative ways of looking, (RE)VIEW intends to evoke curiosity around what we think we see, through a diverse range of contemporary artworks.

Kickstarter exists to help bring creative projects to life, it is an all-or-nothing funding platform for creative projects. This means that if enough funds are pledged (kind of like pre-paying for your chosen item) by lovely people like you and we reach our goal then we can proceed with the project. If we don't reach our funding goal then no funds pass hands.

Take me to your Kickstarter!

Please help us reach our funding goal by backing (RE)VIEW on Kickstarter or sharing our posts on social media.

Tech Blackburn 5

TECH BLACKBURN presented by The Making Rooms and BwD council, is a technology startup accelerator, designed to help entrepreneurs rapidly turn an idea into a business.

Providing expertise from market analysis and product prototyping to crowd funding and marketing, this 8 week fully funded programme will take attendees from an initial spark of an idea, to having your first prototype, learning how to find your customers and pitching to investors.

Following the success of the first cohort at the beginning of the year, TECH BLACKBURN has secured funding to take another 8 delegates through the process and is currently running this second cohort through the programme.

Young Accelerator Programme

The Step Up project isn’t just about assisting the future economy but gives an opportunity and hope to hundreds of disadvantaged young people across the Borough, offering them a brighter future and opportunities to kick start their career.  The Youth Hub will be delivered by a range of experienced partners, who will nurture, empower and support young people who potentially face multiple barriers to employment, education, and learning and whose talents often go undiscovered.

We are excited to announce that we will be one of the partners supporting the project alongside Newground, One Voice Blackburn, Child Action Northwest, IMO Charity, Youth Action, and Young People’s Service.

Over the course of 4 weeks, The Making Rooms will train each group of young people on how to design and develop physical products while also teaching them about creating brands that fit the markets they’re selling to.
