THIS WEEK'S SYRACUSE NEWS

  1. A flare up in COVID-19 cases on SU’s campus has resulted in 20 new cases in 24 hours, and 46 new cases in the last week -- mostly in clusters in North Campus residence halls. For students, this means all campus dining is grab-and-go as a safety measure.
  2. UK pop star Mae Muller spoke to students about her journey as a songwriter, taking care of herself and empowerment in a Zoom conversation with the Women’s Empowerment Project.
  3. Orange men’s and women’s basketball are gearing up for tough opponents in the first round of the NCAA tournament this year. The 11th seeded men’s team faces the 6th seeded San Diego State Friday, while the 8th seeded women’s team will play the 9th seeded South Dakota State
  4. The Everson Museum of Art recently unveiled seven new works acquired as a result of deaccessioning a $12 million Jackson Pollock painting six months ago.

CAPTURING CUSE: Leading on Campus

Three Black women student leaders are opening doors for women of color on campus. Charlene Masona caught up with Graduate student Kennedy Hagens and seniors Damilola Olatunji and Justine Hastings to discuss their experiences holding leadership positions within SU organizations.
